'Smokey' R.I.P.
"All creatures great and small,God made them all!" -the Bible
REceived some sa news today, that one of the stray cas we feed, had been hit and killed by a car up the road. We had planned to use a have a heart trap before winter and trap him and his 4 buddies who vist us faithfully from God knows where. I will miss him and was quite saddened by the news. In a way perhaps, his life is a lesson for all of us in two ways. One it sheds light on the plight of homeless animals everywhere. Secondly, atleast he was cried over upon his passing. Many people don't even get that! What do you think? God Bless you Smokey. See you on the RAinbow bridge my little prince. XXOO -Ann

what to do when your cat bites YOU!

Apple cidar vinegar can be put in food and also added to a poultice with some herbs like aloe vera,epsom salts help,garlic cloves to eat and add to poultice like you would meat to a marinade..witch hazel too. Dip gauze in liquid and wrap the wound as cats carry alot of bacteria in their saliva. don't get me wrong. my 'Toto' is normally a good boy but my room-mate picked him up by his tail to keep him from running out the door so he bit and scrathced him causing his hand to swell up from the puncture wounds and then become infected,ugh! He won't be picking him up like this again,lol..

Was suprised to see the lady i work for at the church letting her cats have free range of the pontsetta's leaves on the floor and her comment when they got sick that it was something they ate but not the plants as she said was an old wive's tale. hmm. Here is a list of pet friendly plants. And now the poisonous ones. Did you know apple seeds are toxic even to dogs?

Does your pet have fleaas?! how bout parasites? Do you know? Check the stool. Just found larvae and eggs in my dog's stool today! Ugh! Anyway, I fed her tuna fish with over the counter wormer ,apple cidar vinegar,garlic salt,olive oil and mixed it in with her high quality dog foods by Rachel RAe. One is veggie and the other is meat and brown rice. I'm trying! Especially on the fine 'Junk drawer' blog, on Entrecard. Go take a look as I was amazed by the quantity of replies she received to her post! This was on my mind too for some time and I should know shouldn't I better than most since I am a pet expert,alternative health practitoner you'd think!? Well..just because I have made money off watching people's animals when they went away on vacation for many years,doing pet grooming and am in ther health field, doesn't mean I am not as in the dark as the rest of you on what is the best course of action to dispose of pet waste affordably,easily,considerately,safely and with the environment in mind for generations to come and not just now and the quick fix. And now here's a question I want to pose to all environmentalists and green people. What is the best way to dispose of pet waste? I am including cat litter as well as dog feces in the mix here!
I throw the scoopable litter in a plastic bag and toss it in the dumpster daily. I do not pick up after my dog however; as I heard the landfills were full of doggie doo doo bags and they were not biodegradable! There is no law in my town as is rural, so I don't have to pick it up,altho I know it is gross to walk along and smell and see it! It does disintegrate eventually tho. But.. someone said it gets into the water supply so...what do I responsibly do?! Help! I would pick it up if I had to and lived in a city. I also would if there were bags that were biodegradable! Are there? Oh I know paper/?!
